Hiking routes

The Hærvejen, which stretches from Viborg to the Danish-German border, runs right past the campsite and offers both shorter trips and longer stages with backpack and boots.

• Hærvejen – classic route
  Follow the old pilgrimage route and get close to cultural history as you move through the peaceful, varied landscape. The route is well marked and suitable for both beginners and experienced hikers.

• Uhrehøje Plantage and Vindblæs Hede
  Experience raw nature, rare plants and high skies in some of Himmerland’s most scenic areas – just a short hike from the campsite.

• Ravnkilde and Madum Lake
  For a day trip with a great variety of nature, the area around Ravnkilde and the clear Madum Lake is ideal – perfect for a quiet walk with the opportunity for a dip along the way.

Bike routes

Himmerland is ideal for cycling tours, whether you’re into long stretches or quiet, family-friendly routes.

• Hærvejsruten (National Cycle Route 3)
  Follow the cycling version of Hærvejen through the beautiful landscape of Central Jutland with magnificent views and peaceful country roads.

• Himmerlandsstien
  The old railway line from Viborg to Løgstør is today a 69 km long, car-free cycle path – ideal for both short trips and all-day excursions.

• Limfjord country to the north
  Take a day trip to Løgstør or Aggersund and experience the transition from inner Himmerland to the open expanses of the Limfjord.
