For us, camping has never simply been a job. It has become a way of life, a shared passion \u2013 and, over time, something that has brought our entire family together.<\/p>\n
Our camping adventure began back in 2011, when we took the leap and bought Toftum Bjerge Camping \u2013 today known as Struer Camping. At the time, of course, we had no idea where the journey would take us. We simply knew that we wanted to create a place where people could enjoy their holidays, relax, and spend quality time together.<\/p>\n
We quickly discovered that the best thing about camping life is not only the beautiful surroundings or being outdoors. It is the people. The little conversations around the campsite, meeting guests who return year after year, children finding new friends to play with \u2013 and the joy of helping create the setting for wonderful holiday memories.<\/p>\n
And perhaps that is exactly why, over time, one campsite became several.<\/p>\n
In 2019, we took over Glyng\u00f8re Camping, which we now run together with our youngest son, Jakob. He is also our maintenance man across the campsites and one of those people who is always ready to lend a hand whenever needed.<\/p>\n
In 2024, Himmerland Camping became part of the family. Here, our eldest daughter, Maja, together with her husband, David, has embraced camping life and is now responsible for running the campsite.<\/p>\n
And in 2026, another exciting chapter in our story begins, as Thisted Camping becomes the family\u2019s fourth campsite.<\/p>\n
Here, our second-oldest daughter, Sara, and her partner, Thomas, are taking over the reins. They already know the camping life very well and are looking forward to creating their own everyday life at Thisted Camping \u2013 naturally with the rest of the family close by whenever an extra pair of hands is needed.<\/p>\n
Our second-youngest son, Jeppe, and his partner, Cecilie, have also developed a taste for life as independent business owners. They have chosen a slightly different path from the rest of the family and now run a hotel in Nyk\u00f8bing Mors. So although it didn\u2019t become a campsite, the apple clearly didn\u2019t fall far from the tree.<\/p>\n
What is particularly special to us is that all four of our campsites are located around the Limfjord. This is where we were born and raised. We know the nature, the fjord, the towns and the people \u2013 and this is where our roots are.<\/p>\n
That is why it means something very special to us to be able to share this area with our guests.<\/p>\n
Today, camping has become a family project spanning generations. We help each other, share ideas and step in whenever we are<\/p>\n

My name is Maja and together with my husband David I run Himmerland Camping. <\/span><\/p>\n Camping has always been a natural part of my life – I simply grew up with it and I always knew that one day it would be part of my future. Luckily, David was just as excited about camping and so we embarked on the dream together. Before taking over the campsite, we ran a small caf\u00e9 and David previously worked as a blacksmith. <\/span><\/p>\n Today, we each use our experience and passion to create a warm, personal and homely campsite where we hope our guests immediately feel welcome.
